It’s up to you how you Power Up and Play. It’s your game, your way, your win.
Resist temptation and avoid using any upgrades, power‑ups or equipment and see how long you can last.
Test your limits, outdo yourself and set a new point scoring record. Or compete against friends to become the ultimate point scorer.
Speed is the name of this game! Compete against yourself or friends and complete a game or level as quickly as you can.
Consider yourself a gaming pro? Set the difficulty level one higher and see if you can replicate the same success. Good luck!
Complete as many levels as you can! Set your own goal and time limit and get levelling up. Whether its 5, 10, or 15 levels, it all counts!
Hunt for as many in‑game collectables as you can. Coins, rings, gems, packages. They all count! Go it alone or team up with friends and get collecting!
Rebel against the norms and play differently to how the game expects you to. Play the pacifist card and have a non‑violent play through, avoid collecting power‑ups or opt out of all upgrades. Mix it up and have some fun!
With only one life, see how long your game play can last. Will it be 10 minutes, 30 or the full 60? Once you die, its back to the beginning to start again. You’ve got this!
Let your creative juices flow. Design your own game narrative to share your experiences as a disabled person.
Tip: This activity works particularly well with people management games. For example, Animal Crossing, The Sims, Minecraft and so on.
Share your experiences as a disabled gamer. What do you love about gaming? Do you face barriers? And how do you overcome them? Whether you use adapted controllers, game without sight, or use eye tracking software, live‑narrate your gameplay, and share your unique way of gaming.
Mix things up and play a different character or team to your normal choice. Experience a different gameplay and have some fun!
Dig out your oldest games and consoles and turn the clocks back with some nostalgic gameplay.
Get your hands on Power Up and Play merchandise when you reach fundraising milestones.
All of the merchandise features the power up and play logo. It is in white capital letters on a purple background. Power up is on top and there is an arrow pointing up from one side of the letter u. And play is underneath. The word and is in the shape of a controller D pad. This is next to the letter P in the word Play which has two dots that look like controller buttons.
